Customers who use the EOS R10 mirrorless camera

It has been discovered that a small number of EOS R10 mirrorless cameras are affected by the following issue. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers using this product.

Customer support for this issue is outlined below.

Issue
A small number of units of the EOS R10 camera may exhibit a loud crackling sound when the built-in flash is used.

Affected Product
If the first two digits of the camera’s serial number are between 01 and 10, the camera may be affected. The serial number is located at the bottom of the camera, as shown below with the first two digits highlighted.

How to check if your camera is affected:
(1) Click the [Search] button below to display the serial number input screen.
(2) Input your camera’s serial number (12 digits) and then click the [Submit] button.
(3) One of the following three messages will be displayed.
“Your camera is NOT an affected product”. No further action is required.
“Your camera is an affected product”. Please contact Canon Australia for a free repair on 13 13 83 or email cameraservice@canon.com.au. If you are located in New Zealand please call 0800 222 666 or email helpdesk@canon.co.nz
“Invalid number”. Please try again ensuring you use all 12 digits located at the bottom of the camera.

Support
A free inspection/repair service will be offered to customers with the affected cameras. Kindly note that we will handle other inspection/repair requests as normal repairs.

Please contact Canon Australia to organise a repair or Canon New Zealand if you are located there. You will need to provide your camera body with the body cap attached.
