Shooting subjects up close (PowerShot D30)

To restrict the focus to subjects at close range, set the camera to [Macro] ().

The shooting distance of each [Focusing Range] and the shooting modes in which [Focusing Range] settings cannot be made

Caution

Depending on the [Shooting Mode], there are cases when the [Focus Range] cannot be set.

In the following example procedure, the camera's shooting mode has been set to [Program AE] () mode.

1. Press the power button to turn the camera on.

2. Press the ⋖Macro⋗ () button.

3. Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to chose [Macro] (), and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

If the [Macro] () icon is displayed on the LCD Monitor, the camera is in [Macro] () mode.

Zoom button operations when the camera is set to [Macro] () mode.

When you press the ⋖Zoom buttons⋗, the [Zoom bar] appears on the screen.

The camera cannot focus in the yellow portion of the bar (When zooming within the range of the yellow bar, () will be grayed out and shooting will be done in ().

The shooting distance for each [Focusing Range] is as shown in the following table (from the end of the lens). If you shoot beyond the following ranges, the subject may be out of focus.

Also, the [Focusing Range] cannot be set in some shooting modes. Please see the following table for details.
