Precautions for Charging Battery Pack

Content Id: 8200587000

Solution

1. Recharge the battery on the day before or on the day it is to be used. Even during non-use or storage, a charged battery will gradually discharge and lose its power.

2. Polish the terminals with a tissue or dry cloth before charging the battery pack. If the terminals are dirty, for example if there is oil from your skin on the terminals, this may result in poor contact and the battery pack may not charge fully.

3. After recharging the battery, detach it and unplug the charger from the power outlet. After disconnecting the charger’s power plug, do not touch the prongs for approx. 10 sec.

4. When not using the camera, remove the battery. If the battery is left in the camera for a prolonged period, a small amount of power current is released, resulting in excess discharge and shorter battery life. Store the battery with the protective cover attached. Storing the battery when it is fully charged can lower the battery's performance.

5. If you have not used the battery pack for an extended period of time, or if you are using the battery pack for the first time, it may not be fully charged. Fully charge the battery pack and then discharge it completely in the camera several times to bring the battery pack capacity to normal.

6. The battery charger can also be used in foreign countries. Please refer to Can I use the AC power adapter and battery charger overseas?, when using the battery charger abroad.

7. If the battery becomes exhausted quickly even after being fully charged, the battery has worn out. Purchase a new battery.
