Setting the Flash (Flash On) (PowerShot G16)

Content Id: 8201903800

Solution

When setting [Flash] to [Auto], [Flash] is not activated if the surroundings are light. However, when shooting with the subject backlit, [Flash] is sometimes used not to make the subject dark. This section describes the setting to shoot the shots with constant flash.

Caution

The following explanations are provided based on the assumption that the [Shooting Mode] is set to [Program AE] ().
In the following shooting modes, you cannot set the [Flash] to the On setting to make it fire every time you shoot.

- [Hybrid Auto Mode] (), [AUTO] (), [Star Nightscape] (), [Fireworks] (), [High Dynamic Range] (), [Background Defocus] (), [Movie] (), [Super Slow Motion Movie] ()

1. Press the ⋖Power⋗ button to turn the camera on.

Move the ⋖Flash up⋗ () switch to raise the ⋖Flash⋗.

Next, press the ⋖Flash⋗ () button.

2. The following screen appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [On] ().

Confirm that [On] is selected.

Caution

The setting screen cannot be accessed by pressing the ⋖Flash⋗() button when the flash is lowered. Move the ⋖Flash up⋗() switch to raise the flash, then configure the setting.

3. If the option you configured is displayed on the screen, the setting is complete.
