EarthCollective
EarthCollective is a participatory network that acts as a catalyst in creating, supporting and facilitating initiatives that improve the understanding of links between nature, ecosystems and human well-being.

Eyes4Earth is one of EarthCollective's key programmes and aims to communicate and visualise the importance of "ecosystem services" to human health and well-being. Ecosystem services are simply the benefits humans obtain from natural ecosystems.

The flagship project of Eyes4Earth is titled "The Question" and asks "What did nature do for you today?" This aims to raise broad awareness of people's daily connection with the natural environment and collects the diverse perceptions people have of nature.

To assist EarthCollective in achieving the goals of "The Question", Canon Australia has supplied:
  • HG10 HDD video camera and accessories
  • EOS 400D Twin Lens Kit and accessories
  • PowerShot A650 IS digital camera and accessories

The Canon products will be used to make short films and multimedia presentations. The films will not only document people's answers to "The Question" in diverse locations around Australia and the world but will - with support from still imaging - capture people's diverse benefits and unique engagement with nature and wildlife.
