Faster, smaller and lighter, the successor to the 300D has bounded onto the photography scene
Digital Photographer Magazine #9, August 2005
Verdict:
Features 9/10 Whatever features you look for in a DSLR, you'll find them here. The EOS 350D has everything needed to keep experienced photographers happy.
Build Quality 9/10 Excellent. When you pick it up the body feels good and solid. There's nothing flimsy or cheap about it.
Handling 9/10 Its tiny size might actually cause some discomfort for large-handed people, but it handles beautifully and simply, with a layout so intuitive, you really don't have to think - just shoot.
Lens Quality 8/10 For a bundled lens, it's not bad. It could be sharper but compared to other recently reviewed consumer DSLR bundled lenses, its a worthy accessory.
Quality of Results 10/10 Breathtaking. Practically noiseless and with few problems save minor moire. The EOS 350D produces superb images on par with the EOS 20D.
Value for Money 10/10 It's delightfully inexpensive for such an impressive camera. For a model this good, Canon could have easily bumped up the price.

Reviewer's comments: "The EOS 350D builds on the success of the EOS 300D and is bound to be just as much of a success in the marketplace. It's a lovely little piece of kit, able to go anywhere thanks to it's small size. With it's range of features cleanly presented in an intuitive layout, there's not much more to ask for."
"The EOS 350D is almost a match for the 20D on many fronts, as our image tests indicate."
"The rear control layout is simple and intuitive, with very few buttons cluttering up the top and sides."
"It's as perfect as a consumer DSLR gets - and gives a semi-pro kit a run for its money as well."
