The PowerShot G10 combines advanced technology, Canon's latest image processor and a classic design to form a compelling offer for photo enthusiasts. Sydney, 17 September 2008: Canon Australia today introduced the PowerShot G10, a model destined to become the leading compact digital camera in its range. Successor to the acclaimed PowerShot G9, this pocket powerhouse combines superior technology with the latest in image processing to deliver nothing short of exceptional image quality. Creative Control and Full Flexibility Full creative control and a variety of custom functions have been incorporated to further enhance this popular model. The long awaited 28mm wide angle, 5x Optical Zoom lens is a highly desirable feature of the PowerShot G10. The lens allows for greater creativity when shooting, allowing users to capture beautiful landscapes or great group shots. The highly valued RAW format has been maintained, enabling PowerShot G10 users full flexibility when manipulating their images ensuring the highest image quality possible. The RAW image processing has been enhanced and includes Digital Photo Professional into the bundled software. This innovative software shares the same editing environment as Canon's EOS range, ensuring stress free image editing, especially for the seasoned EOS user. For even greater flexibility, the user can choose one of two Custom Modes allowing them to record their preferred shooting settings. Further customisation is allowed through My Menu which enables users to program the menus that they use most often and arrange these in the display. Advanced Canon Technology to Create the Highest Quality Images The PowerShot G10 introduces a variety of new features to achieve the superior image quality. Canon's new DiG!C 4 incorporates improved Face Detection including Face Detect Self Timer, Motion Detection technologies and new features including Servo AF and Intelligent Contrast Correction. A new movie function also allows longer movie recording using less memory.* Equipped with a high-resolution 14.7 megapixel image sensor, the PowerShot G10 produces both highly detailed imaging and a rich expressive power. Improved Operability and Classic Design Canon's high resolution 3 inch PureColour II LCD (approx 461,000 dots) faithfully reproduces colour and provides superior image display. The inclusion of an exposure compensation dial and an ISO dial enhances the useability of the PowerShot G10 for the advanced amateur.
