The VB-C50FSi can also be teamed with Canon's VK-64 network video recorder software to form a comprehensive monitoring and recording solution for the surveillance of multiple camera sites.

Colour video from just about anywhere

Connecting directly to an IP network, the VBC50FSi transmits colour video over a local area network or the Internet to up to 50 viewers. Mounting holes on the top and bottom make it easy to mount to a wall, within a ceiling dome or on a freestanding tripod.

Simple connection with Ethernet power

Equipped with Canon's Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, the VB-C50FSi is simple and economical to install even in hard-to-reach places such as on ceilings and rooftops. With a compatible hub, both data and power are received through a single Ethernet cable, so it's ideal for locations where access to an AC power outlet is difficult.

Highest magnification in its class

With its impressive zoom range, the VB-C50FSi is particularly adept at monitoring large facilities. thanks to a genuine Canon 26x optical zoom lens, it has the highest magnification in its class. Combined with a 12x digital zoom, it provides exceptionally wide coverage and the freedom to zoom in fast when you need to.

Automatic motion detection and notification

Motion detection can be set in four areas at once, within the cameras field of view. Sensitivity, area ratio and duration of detection can be set independently for each even if they overlap. What's more, motion detection can be schedule based or motion activated. When an event occurs, you can choose to be notified by email or have the footage saved to your computer automatically.

Smooth, high quality digital video

In addition to Canon precision optics, the VB-C50FSi is equipped with the latest in Canon high-performance quarter-inch CCD image sensor. Producing 340,000 effective pixels at 25 frames per second, it delivers exceptional responsiveness and sharp images. The signal from the sensor is then processed by a Canon DIC2SK high-speed processor for smooth, clear motion capture. The result is high-quality video footage with excellent colour fidelity and little noise.

Superior low light sensitivity

It is this Canon high-performance image sensor that's also to thank for the VB-C50FSi's superior light sensitivity. The VB-C50FSi can capture clear colour video images in only one lux of illumination at a shutter speed of 1/30th of a second.

Simultaneous multi-stream video transmission

The VB-C50FSi transmits three video resolutions at once, so the viewer can choose the one that suits their needs. The choices include 768 x 576 pixels for networks able to accomodate large file sizes and 384 x 288 pixels and 192 x 144 pixels for those with slower Internet connections or for viewing images on a mobile phone.

Options

Optional Multi-Terminal Module VB-EX50 for connection to external video cameras, sensors and alarms.

Optional Wide-Converter WL-37 has a magnification lens of .74x, and when attached to the VB-C50Fi, expands the field of view to 60º.
