Sydney, 21 August 2008: Digitising important documents and precious photos for sharing, storage or back-up has become more important than ever. Canon's new range of colour flatbed scanners provides affordable and easy-to-use options for saving hard copy files in digital form on your computer or external hard drive.

The CanoScan LiDE 100, LiDE 200 and CS5600F are an exceptional range of scanners for work or personal use. At the touch of a button, these CanonScan models can provide high-resolution results for a range of business or personal needs.

Saving or sending hard copies is fast and convenient, as the CanoScans create email attachments, PDF files or colour copies in an instant. Designed with small businesses and home offices in mind, the new CanoScans are an attractive addition that fit neatly on an office desk or home work area.

CanoScan Superiority
The Canon scanner range can create image files, PDF files, colour copies1 or email attachments in one step with one-touch buttons for each function. When photo scanning, save time by scanning multiple images at once, using Multi-Scan mode. This feature automatically aligns, scans and names each image as a separate file.

User-friendly software with the scanner range offers a number of options when capturing files to achieve the desired result. Set desired colour and brightness levels on documents with ScanGear CS, or edit photos using Arcsoft PhotoStudio.

When connected with Canon PIXMA inkjet printers, users can achieve synchronicity with a one-button colour copy option, which directs prints from the scanner, via PC, to the print tray in an instant.

CanoScan LiDE 100 - Scanning with style
Experience simple and affordable scans with this entry-level replacement to the LiDE 25. Amazingly slim, yet loaded with features, the LiDE 100 delivers documents and photos straight to your computer in only 24 seconds. Expect impressive results from this 2400 x 4800 dpi optical resolution, 48-bit colour scanner, which features loads of software options to edit documents and photos. This includes the ability to create multiple-page PDF files with a dedicated PDF button on the scanner's interface.

The thin and light design, combined with a clip-on stand, also offer the option of vertical scanning to save space and help ensure straight images.

CanoScan LiDE 200 - Time saver for high demands
When there's no time to waste, the mid-level LiDE 200 performs as any high-quality scanner should, with fast book scanning at 14 seconds. Continuing on the legacy of its LiDE 90 predecessor, the new CanoScan LiDE 200 allows users to email or save crystal clear documents and photos at 4800 x 4800 dpi resolution and 48-bit colour gradation.

CanoScan helps preserve precious memories, bringing older family photos to life with FARE Level 3 software, which automatically reduces dust, scratches, fading and graininess, along with a backlight correction option.
To keep copies and scans aligned, the CanoScan LiDE 200 features an advanced design, which offers the option to scan in the upright position. The LiDE 200 also helps remove clutter of wires around the desk with a USB lead that transfers data straight to the computer or hard drive.

Canon CS5600F - Do it all with style and speed
For those wanting speed and outstanding quality, Canon's CS5600F colour flatbed scanner delivers brilliant, high-definition documents, photos, slides and film at 4800 x 9600dpi resolution and 48-bit gradation from 7 one-touch buttons. A brand new model to the CanoScan range, the CS5600F is an energy and time saver, with low power consumption from a white LED, offering high brightness and zero warm-up time when turned on.

Increase efficiency with the CS5600F Multi-Scan mode, which scans multiple images at once, then automatically detects, straightens, and creates a separate file for each image. Older family photos and slides can be easily resurrected with a built-in film adaptor, which can scan up to 6 frames of 35mm filmstrip and 4 frames of 35mm slides. Helping to preserve precious moments, FARE Level 3 technology to minimise dust, scratches and fading,.For today's print photos, the CS5600F comes equipped with Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2.0 for professional image retouching.

Shrink larger documents in a few steps by using CanoScan Toolbox software to scan A3 or B4 size documents. By scanning each half of the document, manually aligning the two halves and then saving as a merged file, newspaper articles or large photos will appear like the hard copies.
