IMPROVED IMAGE QUALITY
TIME AND MONEY SAVER
TURNAROUND TIME HALVED
SUPER SERVICE
Canon Australia 's new imageRUNNER network copier/printer devices are boosting productivity and proving their worth in perhaps the toughest and most demanding work environment a printer/copier can face ? the on--demand print/copy shop. Steven Cootes, owner/manager of Kwik Kopy, Phillip in the ACT, has been putting his new Canon iR5000 through its paces over the last few months with great success. His business demands speed and flexibility, high productivity and reliability, and that's just what his Canon iR5000 has delivered, in some cases doubling productivity.
IMPROVED IMAGE QUALITY
"We were looking at upgrading our last stand-alone analog copier with a networked digital printer/copier, "Cootes said. "We have certainly realised considerable cost savings through boosted productivity with the Canon iR5000, which throughputs about 75, 000 pages per month. I 've noticed much improved image quality and the 'scan-once-print-many 'feature means that not only is it much kinder to originals, but our jobs can also be shared across other digital copiers. " The iR5000/6000 Series rapidly prints and scans consistently precise images (50/60 pages per minute at 2400x600dpi). Featuring advanced digital functionality, the iR5000/6000 series supports printing in 10/100 Ethernet and Token Ring environments. Printing across the Internet is also made easy thanks to Canon 's support of the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). Cootes said the iR5000 has proven to be the ideal machine for his busy print-shop environment where clients want anything from one to one thousand documents produced quickly at a high quality standard.
TIME AND MONEY SAVER
"Perhaps the best thing about the iR5000 for my business is its 'job build 'feature ? that''s a genuine time and money saver, "he said. "Job-build "allows the user to quickly and efficiently combine a wide variety of hard copy and digital sources into the one fully integrated digital file, ready for immediate proofing and printing. Capacity is no problem as the iR5000 and iR6000 both feature a standard high capacity 5. 1Gb image server, which can store up to 3700 pages. "Say, for example, I have a client who wants to produce a 12 page document ASAP, but it 's in pieces all over their office. They might give me a few hard-copy originals on the spot, plus a disk with a couple more pages on it, then they might email me the rest.
"With the 'job build 'feature it's no problem. The iR5000 simply scans the originals and combines them with the digital files in whatever order is needed, ready for printing. "
TURNAROUND TIME HALVED
Cootes said the iR5000 's "job build "and other advanced digital features have made time-consuming manual handling a thing of the past, and added greatly to the flexibility and service his staff can offer to their growing client base. "It 's the way of the future, but it 's here today, "Cootes said. "We receive a high percentage of jobs either on disk or via email and depending on the type of job it is, turnaround time can be up to half what it used to be. " Other advanced features of the iR5000 include automatic page orientation, imposition and insertion, mixed-size originals and automatic trayless duplexing. "The trayless duplex unit means the iR5000 's 50 pages per minute throughput actually exceeds the output of the previous 85ppm analog machine for double-sided jobs, "Cootes said. There 's a number of printer/copiers on the market, so why was Canon the right choice for Cootes 'business?
SUPER SERVICE
"About 90%of the reason why I buy Canon equipment is the service and back-up ? it 's second to none, "Cootes said. Canon has more than 330 trained service engineers Australia-wide with an efficient service hotline with call logging to ensure fast response times to customer needs. "In my business, machine down-time can be very costly. So when I choose equipment I'm not just looking for reliability, I need excellent service and support. That 's very important to me. " "Canon 's service and support is very impressive, "he concludes.
